Vacuum weekly using suction only, no rotating brushes. Always vacuum in the direction of the pile. If the rug is new, wool may shed slightly at first. This is normal, just vacuum gently and regularly.

1. Act quickly. Blot with a clean, undyed cloth, don’t scrub.

2. For New Zealand wool rugs:

Our tufted rugs are crafted from New Zealand wool, a fibre known for its natural self-cleaning properties.

- Use lukewarm water and a small amount of pH-neutral detergent. Blot gently from the edges in.

3. For Bamboo Silk rugs:

- Do not use water. Water can stain bamboo silk. Cellulose chemically reacts when combined with water and may produce a yellowish colour. 

- Blot, then apply salt or cornstarch to absorb moisture.

- Use a citric-acid-based powder cleaner and blot gently.

- Air dry using a fan (cool air only—never heat).

We recommend professional cleaning every 2–3 years.

Ask for cleaners who know how to handle wool and bamboo silk.

Avoid steam, heat, and harsh chemicals. Bamboo silk especially must never be heat-cleaned.

Yes. Use a felt or closed-cell rug pad (5mm thick or more) to help your rug last longer, prevent slipping, and protect your floor.

- Trim loose threads—don’t pull.

- Vacuum the underside of your rug every few months.

- For moth control: Inspect regularly. Use a professional textile-safe treatment. Avoid mothballs.

Roll it (design side facing out), and store in a cool, dry place (<60% humidity). Never fold it.

Can I move it myself?

Yes, but always lift. Never drag. Use clean gloves to avoid transferring oils or dirt.
