OUR STORY

It all started with a fascination for early modernist rugs and the discovery that Francis Bacon had made rugs in the late 1920s. That moment sparked the idea to create something new. With a recent career change, designing rugs felt like the perfect next step.

The journey began with studying modernist rug designers to capture the essence of the era without resorting to imitation. Within a month, the first series was complete, and the foundation for Zouzou Rugs was in place.

Zouzou Rugs is run by two Australians now living in Marseille, in the south of France. The rugs are designed between Australia and Marseille and handcrafted in India using the finest quality materials.
